TRL (Touch Rugby League) is non-contact Rugby League. Not only does TRL incorporate kicking, but proper rugby league play-the-balls and other league skills. As a result, TRL eliminates the annoying touch tactics around quick ‘dump and runs’ and also provides a smoother and quicker game than the TAG codes.
Why Play TRL?
- Social Men’s and Mixed competitions
- Kick on any touch
- Dummy-half can be touched and score
- Must take kick-offs
- AFL rule in men’s: if a player catches a kick on the full in the in goal it is a try
- Two point tries for girls!
The new season has just kicked off! After a short break, we recommence with round 2 on the 29th

The Sunshine Coast competition is run at Maroochydore Rugby League fields on Wises road on Wednesday nights with both mixed and men’s competitions.
